Hi there. So, you've decided to learn a little about us have you? Well, where do I start? Let's try from the beginning or somewhere there abouts anyway. I first got into computers as a result of having to mainly because I wasn't going to be able to gain open employment without some sort of computer literacy.
I currently work in supported employment as a process worker and relief receptionist and my i.t interests hopefully will allow me to gain open employment. I found that I had quite a nack for computers and the way they work to a certain extent but the accessability is the major draw back. I use the computer with the aid of adaptive technology. I use what's known as a screen reader which as it's name suggests reas the text on the screen and converts it into an accessable format for me to read and manipulate.

As my knowledge in computers grew, I became more interested in what the computer could do for me and decided to test out the audio recording side of things for a while. This proved to be a challenge as I don't have the ability to track volume levels and the like with jaws for windows but that didn't stop me from trying.
When I finally learned to use the internet about 3 years ago, I found I was in my element. Naturally having a curious nature, I wanted to learn more so for the last 2-3 years I've been on the internet doing just that. Now as a result of my learning as much as I could on my own and asking all kinds of questions from the sublime to the rediculous, I decided that some formal training was in order. So, as a result I'm endeavouring to undertake the certificate 4 in network management. As networking is something I can take from platform to platform I can apply it here at home with my linux machine. Now you may ask "HOw does he access GNU/Linux? Well, I'll tell you. AnyWay, enough from me, you're probably wanting to know about Sammie and how she came to be here as well. Well, I'll tell you.
Sammie emmigrated to Australia from england when she was about 2 years of age. And I for one am glad she did. Otherwise, we'd have never have met nore would I be telling you about her. Sammie and I have been friends for the last 10 years and we put up with alot of crap from each other. After all, that's what friends do isn't it? In any case, Sammie's interest in computers stems from her father's and my interest. However, she's not overly concerned with the inner goings on of the machine, just so long as it works and behaves itself. :P Anyway, Sammie got on to the internet to make new and interesting friends and we can both safely say that some of the friends we've made have been well, interesting. But, none better than the ones we've made on various IRC networks that still speak with us today. We've had an interesting last year and hope that this year is just as interesting. We'd also like to thank some special friends for making us feel very welcome. Those friends know who they are but for their edification, and just so they can say we got our name on a web page :P, they are: Sunni, {Snaps}, Dangles, joe0x38, TheBestGuru, Angel, Sinexa, Twinkle253, Guitardude, Omen253, Kludge, Mikh`aeL, Birdy, debb``, SunFlower, Teach, ^^neo^^, Xana, and various others I can't think of right now. Some of you we've known for ny on 2 years and appreciate your friendship. and to those of you we've for all intents and purposes have just met, we hope we remain good friends for a long time.
We're both proud to be a part of such a great group of people and thank them for welcoming us and allowing us to be a part of their group.
Anyway, More about Sammie. Her interests include, Listening to country music, looking after the animals of which there is a managery including, one dog, one cat, one bird, and as she says one blindman. :-Þ if you want to see a pic of Sammie, then, here it is.
